To go along with the hot dog, this is the second summer staple I painted this week. This piece features a fresh stack of three watermelon slices, full of vibrant pinks, crisp green rinds, and dark seeds. I kept the brushstrokes thick and expressive to capture that juicy, sunlit feeling of a perfect summer treat.
• Materials: Oil paint on 7/8" thick gallery wrapped canvas. The artwork continues onto the edges of the painting so it can be displayed with or without a frame. Each work is initialed on the front, signed and dated on the reverse, and protected with an archival satin varnish.
