I’m often drawn to the ways different elements of nature echo one another. In this piece, I wanted to explore the visual similarity between the sweeping crest of the Pink Cockatoo and the flared petals of the Asiatic Lily. It was a wonderful process to capture these mirrored forms and tonal pinks on linen.
• Size: 16" x 20" x 1.5" original oil painting
• Materials: Oil paint on 1.5" deep gallery-profile linen. The edges are finished in a neutral charcoal grey, allowing the piece to be displayed without a frame. Each work is initialed on the front, signed and dated on the reverse, and protected with an archival satin varnish.
